Our Dojo

Over the last 9 years, we’ve established a welcoming community of dedicated practitioners. It’s a great place to learn a fantastic martial art with wonderful people who want you to succeed.

Our foundation is Can-Ryu Japanese Jiu Jitsu, but we’re also informed by our instructors’ backgrounds in Wrestling, Kickboxing, Judo, Kung Fu, and Karate.

The result? A versatile, highly-effective martial art.

OUR ART

FJJ is self-defence, not sport. Though we compete safely in every class, our aim is to address the demands of dangerous situations. Our goal is to get home safe. FJJ’s curriculum addresses single attacker, multiple attacker and armed assailants.

An essential part of effective martial arts is live combat. We have 4 combat drills - Sparring (stand-up striking), Randori (throws and takedowns), Ground-fighting, and Free-Flow Fighting (all 3 previous drills in 1). Lots of fun!

Each class includes a fitness component. Our Dojo makes our students fitter, faster, and more resilient.
